Re-scheduled Municipal Government Day set for midweek

The Annual Municipal Government Day will take place this Wednesday after being postponed due to high winds and rain on the original date. It is the 15th annual event this year and will take place at Muskoseepi Park.

It is a free event put on by the City of Grande Prairie. The theme is Celebrating Our Downtown with special emphasis on the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project. City Councillor and Chair of the Municipal Government Day Team Kevin O Toole says this event is a great way for people of the community to connect.

For the children, there will be bouncy castles, face painting and a dunk tank. There will also be performers and local musicians as entertainment. Exhibits by municipal departments and community organizations will also be set up during the day.

The celebration will start at 4:00 pm and run until 7:00 pm.
