Canada Post withdraws lockout notice

Canada Post has withdrawn its 72-hour lockout notice which was set to take place today. This means there should be no interruption in mail service.

They say this will give them an opportunity to focus on serious negotiations with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers.

The withdrawal of the notice comes after a statement was issued by the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, Maryann Mihychuk which was for both parties to continue their discussions beyond the notice period.
