Anyone looking forward to using the campgrounds and par three golf course at South Bear Creek Park will have to wait at least another season. The City has decided it needs more time to decide what should be done with the Wee Links facility, and has confirmed it will not be open this summer.
It closed in 2013 and was taken over by the City the next year. There was some promise earlier this year when a request for proposal was issued, but City Council turned down Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park’s offer to take over operations. At the time, council members had different ideas of what they wanted to see happen, and they say they need the rest of the summer to figure out their vision.
