Teens arrested in stolen semi after alleged crime spree

Two teens are in police custody after allegedly going on a crime spree in the B.C. Peace. Police first heard about the duo when they got a report of a semi-truck driving erratically in Dawson Creek early Tuesday morning.

When officers first tried to pull it over, the driver didn’t stop, but a mountie in an unmarked police vehicle was able to get in front of the tractor trailer when it was stopped at a red light. It turns out the driver was a 13 year old boy, with a 16 year old girl in the passenger seat.

RCMP allege the pair first stole a pickup truck from the city and drove it to Chetwynd. When they crashed, they then reportedly stole the commercial truck and made their way back.

They’re both facing several charges and are awaiting a bail hearing. Names have not been released as they are both youths.
