Armed party crasher facing charges after Charlie Lake incident

A Charlie Lake, B.C. man is facing several charges for showing up uninvited to a family gathering with a gun. The incident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday morning just north of Fort St. John.

Witnesses said the man was believed to be intoxicated and tried to crash their private party. He was asked to leave, and when he came back he was armed with what looked like a rifle. While holding it, he assaulted a woman, but several people at the party were able to detain him until police arrived.

RCMP found more guns at the suspect’s home, but it’s believed this was an isolated incident fuelled by alcohol consumption. The man is in custody and appeared in court Monday.
