Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Grande Prairie area. They say conditions are favourable for this afternoon with the potential to bring small hail and heavy rainfall.
They add that these types of thunderstorms can bring damaging wind gusts and rainfall in excess of 50 mm.
The risk should end later this evening.
