Matching grants handed out to Neighbourhood Associations

The installation of an outdoor concrete ping pong table for the Royal Oaks area is that much closer to a reality. The Royals Oaks Neighbourhood Association was one of six other communities that received matching grants for projects from the City of Grande Prairie . Theirs totalled $2700 and the members of the community will have to come up with the other half which can include gift in kinds, raising the money and volunteer hours. It is all part of the 2016 Neighbourhood Enhancement Matching Grants.

Mountview Neighbourhood received the most money for the purchase and installation of 10 benches at $5000. Country Club Neighbourhood Association received $3150 for banners for each of their three entrances and Highland Park also received $4500 for banners.

Phase Two of the Front Entrance Water Feature Beautification Project in Pinnacle got some funding as well at $1725. Cobblestone and Riverstone Neighbourhood Association received the matching grant for the purchase of three picnic tables for three parks at $2250.

In total council awarded $19,325 to all the associations.
