Grande Prairie Regional Animal Care Facility offers adoptions starting today

The Grande Prairie Regional Animal Care Facility will begin delivering three separate animal care services starting today. They will now have Pound Services, Adoption Services and Animal Shelter Services which follows the May 31st closure of the Grande Prairie and district SPCA.

The County and City say all animals will be dewormed, micro-chipped and given their first set of vaccinations. Anyone who adopts an animal will be given a 50 per cent off voucher to get their animal spayed or neutered.

They also say that the GPSPCA had some of the highest adoption fees in Alberta and they have dropped the rates to make it more affordable to adopt. Puppy prices will be dropping from $575 to $200 and kitten prices will go from $175 to $90.

Animals up for adoption can be found on the Grande Prairie Regional Animal Care Facebook page.

Animal adoptions run from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Tuesday to Friday.
