Grande Prairie golfer places third in Alberta Open

Grande Prairie’s own Tyson Beaupre pulled off a third place finish at this week’s Alberta Open. Playing out of the Dunes Golf and Winter Club, Beaupre shot seven under after two rounds at the 2016 Scott Venturo event.

The tournament was won by Brett Hogan of the Glencoe Golf and Country Club at 10 under. The Calgarian gave up an early lead but came back and chipped-in on the 18th for a two-stroke win.

Beaupre was joined at the RedTail Landing Golf Club by fellow locals Max Sekulic, who tied for 12th, Jordan Relling, who tied for 45th, and Shane Smith who tied for 92nd. Beaupre finished 17th overall at last year’s event.
