Flooding on Highway 43 near Demmit

UPDATE: Alberta Transportation says there are two spots affected: the south end of the Demmitt weigh scale and at Range Road 131. The speed limit is reduced to 50 kilometres an hour.

Part of Highway 43 near Demmitt has been flooded by heavy rain. Alberta Transportation has flag persons on the scene eight kilometres east of the B.C. border.

The speed limit in the area is reduced, but the highway is still open in both directions. While there’s congestion, traffic delays are reportedly under half an hour.
