Dawson Creek bridge gets washed out

Grande Prairie and area isn’t the only place getting rain. The South Peace region in BC is seeing rainfall warnings continue. According to tweets from CBC Daybreak North, there has been a bridge in Dawson Creek washed out and there has been flooding of a few homes in the area. There has also been reports of a group of homes that have been evacuated. Environment Canada says the community is expecting 10 to 20 more millimetres of rain before ending later tonight.

A State of Local Emergency has been put into place in Chetwynd. Environment Canada is reporting over 70 millimetres of rain has fallen in that area of BC and there is still up to 20 millimetres of rain expected today.

Grande Prairie’s rainfall warning continues with around 10 to 20 millimetres this afternoon.
