UPDATE: The City has now postponed Municipal Government Day as the weather has worsened. A new date will be set soon.
Municipal Government Day is still on, but it’s been moved inside. The event will now be held inside the Muskoseepi Park pavilion from 4 to 7 p.m.
There will still be burgers and hot dogs to enjoy during entertainment from the James Morrison Band, Mickey Blue Shoes, Cam White and Mitchell Heinrish. All of the community displays, facepainting, and award presentations for the Youth Art Contest and Good Neighbour contests will be held inside as well.
The annual Municipal Government Day event is meant to shine a light on the services and programs in Grande Prairie. This year’s focus is on celebrating the city’s downtown, which is about to go through a major upgrade.
Parking within the park will be limited, but free public transit it being offered from noon to 8 p.m.
