Downtown Rehabilitation set to begin mid-July

The first part of the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project in the City of Grande Prairie is set to begin mid-July. The first phase is on 101st Street from the north of the CN Rail Tracks to the alley between 102nd Avenue and 103rd Avenue. There will be surface work like sidewalks, curbs and gutters worked on as well as underground work like water and storm systems.

Project Technologist Conor Coney says that this project will enhance the downtown core and make it more vibrant. Wapiti Gravel Suppliers got the tender for a cost of $18,225,030.86.

There will be four phases to the project with the second phase coming in spring or summer of 2017
