Derek Saretzky will face triple-murder trial next May

Derek Saretzky has plead not guilty to the first degree murders of two year old Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette, her father Terry Blanchette and 69 year old Hannah Meketech. A seven week trial before a judge and jury will be held in Lethbridge in May 2017.

27 year old Terry was found dead in his Blairmore home on September 14th, prompting an Amber Alert for his missing daughter. Hailey’s remains were found in a rural area the next day.

22 year old Saretzky was charged with their deaths, and in April, police added the third charge for the killing of Meketech, who died five days before the others. She lived next door to Saretzky’s grandparents and was found dead in her home. Her cause of death has not been released.
