Road work begins in Crystal Heights and South Patterson

A heads up for drivers in South Patterson and Crystal Heights: road work is set to start in those neighbourhoods Monday.

In Crystal Heights, crews will be replacing some sidewalks and curbs, doing a full depth reclamation of the roads, laying new pavement and repairs some parts of the storm sewer system. Work will be done on 90th Street from 104th Avenue to north of 112th, 108th Avenue from 88C Street to 90th, and 111th Avenue from 90th to 92nd Street. Traffic will be down to a single lane during some phases.

Meanwhile in Crystal Heights, crews will be on 73rd Avenue from Patterson Drive to 99th Street, 98th Street from 73rd to 75th Avenue, and 99th Street from 73rd to 75th as well. The city is removing and replacing all concrete in those spots, along with the pavement, and will be doing significant repairs to the storm sewer system. Only local traffic will be allowed.

In both cases, the speed limit will be 30 kilometres an hour and drivers are reminded to watch for workers on the road.
