UPDATE: Around 80 homes in Crystal Lake expected to have gas service before midnight

UPDATE #3: ATCO Gas has the gas turned back on in the neighbourhood and began helping residents re-light gas appliances last night. Homes they didn’t get to will be completed this morning.

UPDATE #2: ATCO Gas says they are continuing to repair the gas line that was ruptured earlier today and are expected to finish up by between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm. ATCO Gas representatives with then go door-to-door to assist with re-lighting of gas appliances. They say if they don’t get to every house, they will return to the neighbourhood in the morning to assist.

UPDATE: ATCO Gas says there are around 80 customers without gas until they fix a main gas line that was ruptured on Lakeshore Drive. As of 7:00pm, they say an estimated repair time is unknown.

Once gas is turned back on, ATCO Gas representatives will go door-to-door to assist customers in re-lighting their natural gas appliances.

ATCO gas is on the scene of a gas leak in Crystal Lake neighbourhood in Grande Prairie. They say the main gas line was ruptured at house number 9017 on Lakeshore Drive by a third party.

They are not sure when the situation will be fixed but say it did not have residents of the neighbourhood evacuate.
