RCMP have located a Grande Prairie man who was wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant. The Grande Prairie RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit and General Investigative services teamed up to find Derek Plourde. RCMP say the 46 year old was spotted driving near the Courtyard Apartments on 94th Avenue on Tuesday May 31st but when approached by officers he attempted flee the area. Police quickly caught and arrested the man.
Plourde is being charged in addition to his warrant with two counts of flight from police, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of driving an uninsured motor vehicle, two counts of driving an unregistered motor vehicle and two counts of displaying improper license plates.
He will appear in court in Grande Prairie today.
