County mails out property tax bills due June 30th

Property tax notices for County of Grande Prairie land owners are now in the mail. In order to avoid a late penalty, payments are due by June 30th.

To help with last minute payers, the County’s office will be open with extended hours on June 28th, 29th, and 30th. Payments can also be made through a bank or by mail. Anything received after the end of June will be subject to a three per cent penalty, and an additional 12 per cent after October.

Anyone who purchased property recently is asked to contact the tax office immediately. There are roughly 20,000 properties in the County. The average residential rate payer will see their total municipal tax bill increase by 2 per cent not including the provincial education and senior’s foundation requisitions.
