The public is invited to a panel discussion about the Truth & Reconciliation Commission and how it applies to Grande Prairie. The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples will have four panellists joining the conversation.
The mandate of the TRC is to inform all Canadians about what happened in Indian Residential Schools. Mayor Bill Given will be included as one of the panellists along with other community representatives. The panel will discuss the challenge as well as opportunities that will come from the Commission in relation to the city of Grande Prairie.
The Community Dialogue will take place today at the St Paul’s United Church at 6 pm.
