Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to visit Fort McMurray Friday

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will visit Fort McMurray this Friday. He made the announcement in the House of Commons this afternoon.

Trudeau is expected to spend the day touring the area affected by the wildfire, which has destroyed 2,400 structures. The PM had previously said he would hold off until the situation calmed down, not wanting to pull security and other resources from the fire.

More than 88,000 people have been evacuated, and there’s still no timeline for their return.
