Unemployment rate increases in the Grande Prairie region

The Grande Prairie region unemployment rate has increased.

March had a rate of 7.2 per cent went up to 7.5 per cent in April. In a year, the region’s unemployment rate has jumped 1.3 per cent. The rate last April was at 6.2 per cent. Grande Prairie is included in the region that stretches from Banff to Peace River.

The province’s unemployment rate has gone up by 1.7 per cent over the course of a year. April 2015 had a rate of 5.6 per cent while this April sits at 7.2 across the province. There was an increase of .1 from March to April this year in Alberta.
