Grande Prairie-area fire trucks and crews sent to High Level

The Grande Prairie region has sent even more resources to help the province in its state of emergency. Two fire trucks and nine firefighters from the City and County of Grande Prairie have been dispatched to High Level.

Two more trained staff have also been sent to Edmonton, to eventually be stationed in Fort McMurray. The Grande Prairie Regional Emergency Partnership sent up RCMP resources and emergency management personnel to Fort Mac Wednesday, as asked for for the Provincial Operations Centre.

GPREP has also activated the Emergency Operations Centre at the Pete Eager Fire Hall. There is no evacuation centre in the Swan City, so any evacuees who have made their way here are asked to register with the Red Cross.
