Precautionary Air Quality Advisory issued for northern Alberta

A precautionary air quality advisory has been issued for northern Alberta. Wildfires burning across the North Zone has Alberta Health Services warning residents about potential health concerns.

Although the current conditions aren’t typically an issue for healthy people, if they become more severe they could lead to an irritation of the eyes and throat and maybe shortness of breath.

People with respiratory and cardiovascular conditions are more at risk and should watch for their symptoms getting worse. They can reduce their exposure but doing as little physical activity outside as possible and by staying inside with with windows and vents closed.

Anyone having issues should call Health Link at 8-1-1.
