Emergency fuel stations set up on Highway 63 for Fort McMurray evacuees

There has been emergency fuel station services set up at 3 locations south of Fort McMurray. They have been set up 60 km, 100 km and 165 km on Highway 63. A state of emergency has been declared by the province for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo with an evacuation order expanding to Gregoire, Anzac as well as Fort McMurray First Nation.

The fire has burned more than 10,000 hectares of land and led to the evacuation of at least 80,000 people. More firefighters and other resources are on the way. The Department of National Defence is also prepared to offer logistical support.

According to the province, there is 1100 firefighters, 145 helicopter, 138 pieces of heavy equipment and 22 air tankers are working on the fires.
