New manufactured home community planned for west side of the city

A new manufactured home community could be coming to Grande Prairie. Developers are looking to a piece of land located near a railway track east of 116th Street and south by 84th Avenue to develop the mobile type homes. Right now, the land is currently being used for agriculture production.

The city will look at amending a bylaw that would see the land use changed from industrial to allow for a mix of residential and commercial property. The city will allow the general public to react to the possible amendment of the Municipal Development Plan at a future Council Meeting.

If the amendment and development go through, there would possibilities of acoustical fencing to block noise from the CN rail tracks being so close.
