Bike Auction this weekend

Any bicycles that were found by Enforcement officers over the year and not claimed will be sold this weekend. The Annual Bike Auction will be held in the Towne Centre Mall South parking lot Sunday afternoon.

There will be an opportunity to look at the bikes before they go up for auction at noon. If someone had one lost or stolen, there is an opportunity to view the items at 11:00 am and possibly claim their items back. It will require proof before they will let anyone take it home with them. Proof could be a sales receipt with a serial number, a stolen bike report or photos with them on the bicycle.

Enforcement Services Manager Chris Manual says this is one of their larger auctions, with three sea-cans full of bikes the city wants gone. This year’s auction will only include bicycles.

The city is reminding people to keep their property safe this season by registering bikes for free on the city website or muniportal.ca.
