Ten competitors from the Peace Country made it to the podium for the Armwrestling Provincial Championships this past weekend. The Twistmasters had the largest team at the event with 11 members participating. Joe Fox received Silver in the Right Arm Men’s 200 lbs Division 2 category. His son Dane Fox competed in the age 5 to 7 category and got the win for Right Arm while he came in second for the Left. Fox’s other son Kyran received bronze in Left Arm.
The reigning National Champ Ethan Jaarsma won gold in the 16-17 year old category in the Left Arm of the Men’s Division 2 but came in silver in the Right Arm. He lost out to Dean Torreson which he had beaten earlier in elimination. Chris Evans got the gold in the Men’s Division 2 Right Arm category.
For the women, Maria Peterson received the silver for both Left and Right category in Women’s Division 1.Right Arm Bronze medal went to MathewGuay in the 225 lbs Division 2 and the Silver went to Doug Curtiss in that same category. In Division 1 Unlimited for men, Marc Guay received the silver medal for both the Left and the Right.
The event took place in Calgary.
