Fatality on Highway 43

RCMP are investigating a fatal collision on Highway 43. According to police, a 35 year old man from Athabasca was believed to be walking in the driving lane on the highway located west of Fox Creek.

A tanker truck hit the pedestrian at around 10:35 p.m. on April 11th and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP say there still could be some traffic issues while they work on getting the road opened and traffic analysts determine what happened. Speed and alcohol are not considered to be factors.
