Jobless rates down in region

The jobless rate in our region went down last month. In the first two months of 2016, unemployment rate was at 7.9 per cent but had shifted to land at 7.2 per cent for March. The Grande Prairie Region is included in the area that stretches from Jasper to Peace River.

Across Alberta, jobless rates decreased from 7.9 per cent to 7.1 per cent. Statistics Canada says that across the country, over 40,000 jobs were added in March with the national employment rate falling from 7.1 per cent to 7.3 per cent in February.
