The City of Grande Prairie presented over 140 thousand dollars in cheques to local organizations yesterday. The largest cheques being 50 thousand dollars to STARS air ambulance. Mayor Bill Given explains that giving out these cheques is part of keeping the city safe to work, live and play in.
The Grande Prairie & District Victim Services Association received a portion of money as well as Grande Prairie & Area Safe Communities. Technical Search and Rescue also received some funds which, along with the rest of the organizations, will help with daily operations.
