Man arrested for Fort St. John bank robbery

RCMP have made an arrest in an April 1st bank robbery in Fort St. John. A hold up alarm was pressed around 12:20 p.m. Friday after a man walked into the bank and asked for a specific amount of cash from a teller.

He didn’t take out a weapon, but said he had one on him. The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money, but when officers looked at surveillance footage, they were able to identify the man in the video.

The 69 year old is reportedly well known to police and they were able to take him into custody at his last known residence. His name has not been released.
