UPDATE: Man shot at GPRC Fairview campus

UPDATE: Classes are cancelled Monday April 4th following a shooting at the Fairview GPRC campus Sunday. There will also be counseling services available for students.

A man is in critical condition after being shot at the Grande Prairie Regional College campus in Fairview.

Just before 7 p.m. Sunday night, witnesses say three men in a four-door, greyish-green car shot an 18 year old man. He’s reportedly stable but has been flown to Edmonton for further treatment.

Later in the evening, a vehicle matching the suspect description was spotted by Grande Prairie RCMP. Officers tried to stop the vehicle and a chase ensued. It was later called off due to the risk to the public.

Classes were not in session at the time of the shooting. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact Fairview RCMP or Crime Stoppers. If seen, do not approach the vehicle as the people inside are considered armed and dangerous.
