They came close to gold, but Geoff Walker and Laura Crocker are leaving the Canadian Mixed Doubles Championship with a silver medal. The couple was undefeated heading into the final, but fell 12 – 8 to Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant.
Crocker and Walker were up 8-6 after the sixth end, but gave up four to Peterman and Gallant in the seventh. They stole another two in the 8th to secure the championship.
The win will be extra sweet for Gallant, who is Beaverlodge native Walker’s teammate on Team Newfoundland and Labrador in the men’s league. Crocker curls on Kelsey Rocque’s team out of Edmonton.
