Peace River School Division nominates first year teacher for award

Lora Casselman has been nominated for the Edwin Parr Teachers Award. The grade 2/3 teacher at Kennedy Elementary School in Grimshaw was nominated by the Peace River School Division. Each year the Alberta School Board Association honours six exceptional first year teachers with the award, nominated by school boards across the province.

Casselman is involved outside of her regular teaching duties with Track and Field with her initiative to get a running club going for the spring. Her other involvements include the Jump Rope for Heart and the Terry Fox Run. The province’s school board association will announce the six winners later this year.
