École Montrose teacher nominated for Edwin Parr award

A teacher who has created the first ever LGBTQ group at École Montrose has been nominated for an award. Erin Connors was nominated for the Edwin Parr Teachers Award by the Grande Prairie Public School District for her hard work as a first year student. The Alberta School Board Association honours six exceptional first year teachers with the award, nominated by school boards across the province.

The teacher supervises school activities throughout the year and has become a supervisor of the Montrose Breakfast Club. She also coaches a grade five basketball team. The Edwin Parr Teachers Award six winners will be picked and then announced later this year.
