Swan City Snowmobile Club property vandalized

An outhouse that was just put up last year by the Swan City Snowmobile Club has been vandalized. The structure located beside the Big Mountain Chalet south of Grande Prairie was used for someone’s target practice and now has bullet holes through it.

President of the Club Lou Maffret says it was disheartening to hear about the damage after volunteers put work in last year to get the facility installed. He says it ended up costing around $3000 all together to get it up running and depending on the damage that has been done, it could cost up to the same amount.

The club is non-profit and is run by volunteers as well as funds raised by the community to keep it going.
