An earlier than usual auction happening today and tomorrow has been added because of high demand. A two day Ritchie Bros auction is in addition to their usual schedule and is earlier for the first time in about five years.
Regional Sale Manager Terry Moon says the sale was prompted by two oilfield company dispersals in the area plus others wanting to have the sale.
“We are expecting a large crowd coming to the auction. With the good quality gear that we have here, we have lots of interest. We have been getting calls from all over saying they are coming from all over to bid on the equipment.”
He says that companies are not desperate and for these companies, this is just an opportunity move some of their assets.
There will be over 2200 lots at the auction today and tomorrow.
