Male hockey wins at Arctic Winter Games

Team Alberta North is now sitting at 26 gold medals going into the last day of the Arctic Winter Games in Greenland. They currently sit fourth in the standings. Their most recent win was for Male Bantam hockey winning the gold medal round of play 5 to 4 yesterday against Team Northwest Territories.

Included on the Bantam Male team is Grande Prairie’s Cam Besom, Mason Kunka, and Mason Smith. Wembley’s Cody Quinton and Beaverlodge’s Lee Lappenbush are also part of the winning team.

It was Team Alberta North and the Northwest territories in the final for Female Bantam hockey but Alberta couldn’t get the win, getting the silver medal. The teams will head home after the games wrap up today in Nuuk.
