Peace Country Classic Agri-show welcomes new activities

Another year of agriculture at the Peace Country Agri-show kicks off today in Evergreen park with the same classic events and some new. The President of the event Ross Mather says the show becomes a family affair the three days that it is on.

“We have Saturday a children’s auction. They buy funny money from ATB with food donations to bid on kid’s farm equipment. We have quite a change in the horse program. It has become quite extensive. We have a kid’s zone for colouring and stuff”

Like every year, the bull sale will happen on Friday. That same night the County of Grande Prairie will recognize the Farm Family of the Year at a banquet they hold. This year’s pick is the Richards family for all their work in the farm community.

Along with the new events, there are returning this year like the petting zoo and the bull sale on Friday.

“We have some of agriculture. There is lots of grains, seed, fertilizer, and tractors for the kids to crawl all over. Basically if it is agriculture, we have a booth for them to show off their product.”

The event runs March 10th to 12th at the Entrec Centre.
