Local Hythe and Grande Prairie businesses win Alberta Business Awards of Distinction

Local businesses took home some awards over the weekend in Edmonton. Local Hythe business Western Manufacturer Ltd. took home two awards including the Aboriginal Relations-Best Practice Award. They received this award for their recent development of a summer student job shadowing program for the high school students of Horse Lake First Nation as well as numerous other partnerships. The steel tank and oilfield equipment manufacturing company also received the Premier’s Award.

Enviro Home Inc. received the Small Business Award on Saturday. Recent growth in their company was highlighted with ongoing growth in revenues and their employees from 5 to 14.

The Employer of Person with Disabilities went to the Grande Prairie Golf and Country Club. The award is in partnership with the Alberta government and went to the the Club for their ability to incorporate people with disabilities into the work place.

Revolution Auto Group was nominated for the Marketing Award and Saltmedia Inc. was nominated in the category of Eagle Feather Award.

The Alberta Business Awards of Distinction were created in 1992 to recognize businesses or organizations that have demonstrated outstanding achievement and contribution to their community.
