Jones takes the bronze medal at the Scotties

It came down to only inches at the end of the 10th of the bronze medal game at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Jennifer Jones and Team Canada threw their last rock to claim the bronze medal 8-7 against Team Manitoba and Kerri Einarson. Jones says it was nice to end on a win after coming off the ice disappointed against Northern Ontario the night before.

“It is curling. If you were guaranteed to win, it wouldn’t be anyone fun. That is what sport is all about. Anyone can win on any given day.”

After bouncing back from a couple losses early in the tournament, Jones explains that overall they were pretty consistent. The Skipper says their opponent today played really well all week and that the future of Manitoba curling is very bright.

Although Einarson lost the bronze, she is still really proud of her team and has lots to take away from the Scotties.

“There is so many great memories and it was such a great experience. A highlight was when I made that final shot to put us into the playoff. It was such a wonderful event. I can’t wait to be back.”

The Gold Medal draw will start at 6:30pm at Revolution place with Alberta up against Northern Ontario.
