He competed in Canadian Power lifting and Bench Press Championships which were held in Regina last week. During the competition athletes squat, bench press then dead lift. Grande Prairie’s Eckstrom tied for dead lifts in his class as well as squat records and did 200 kilograms in bench press.

The bronze medalist did 2 times her body weight squat at 247.5 pounds and pulled a body weight PR on dead lift at 292.5 pounds.

Sparks was up against British Columbia’s Rachel Anyi, Alberta’s Alexandra Stodalka, and Ontario’s Kelly Lien.
