Alberta is getting yet another area code. Starting April 9th, 403, 780, and 587 will be joined by the new 825. The Western Telecommunications Alliance says there’s an increasing demand for phone numbers from both residents and businesses.
It will be introduced gradually and is expected to meet the demand for a while. Albertans won’t have their current number changed, but could be offered the 825 area code when getting a new service.
