McCarville takes the win against Jones in second day of Scotties

Team Canada takes their second loss against Northern Ontario after the first two days of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Northern Ontario’s McCarville was on the board in the 1st end but Jennifer Jones came back with two points in the 2nd end. It was back and forth until the 6th end when Jones was in the lead 6-4 but NO tied it up by the 8th end. Canada tried to come back getting 1 more point in the 9th end to once again take the lead with 7-6 but McCarville got two more in the 10th end winning the game 8-7. Team Canada’s Skip says the other team got momentum in the 8th.

“I think we played well. I don’t think we played as strong as we’d like but that’s okay. We will learn, regroup and come back strong tomorrow.”

Northern Ontario is 3-0 in the tournament after their win against Team Canada. McCarville says after their game against Nova Scotia earlier Sunday, this win was a confidence boost.

“we don’t want to scramble every time for a win. I think in the Scotties you need a little bit of luck and it seems to be on our side but hopefully it stays on our side. We want to come play confident every game and feel really good. We want to go into the next game feeling good. This afternoon our game wasn’t the greatest the first five ends. We picked up the last five ends and focused on those positives…the good things that happened. We ended up getting a’W’which is what you need.”
