People who live in the annexed areas of the city will get more information at an open house. A trade show style event will give more information on what road construction and upgrading looks like in these areas. There will also be features on rural fire service as well as taxation transition. Land use zoning, transportation, and solids waste services will also be spotlighted.
Representatives from city departments and City Council will be available to answer questions that residents may have. The event will take place from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Montrose Cultural Centre Tuesday February 23rd.
As of January 1st 2016 6,300 hectares of land from the County was transferred over to the city with annexation.
