Peace region-born curlers named to Canadian Hall of Fame

Two Paralympic gold-medallists with ties to the Peace region are being inducted into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame.

Born in Beaverlodge, Darryl Neighbour won his third Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship last year as vice-skip for Team B.C. The 67 year old was on the 2010 Paralympic gold-medal team, along with Ina Forrest, who is also one of the newest Hall of Fame members.

Forrest grew up in Fort St. John, B.C. and also played with Neighbour on the 2009 and 2011 world championship teams. She’s won three of those gold medals and two Winter Paralympics ones in Vancouver and Sochi.

The pair will be honoured along with three other inductees during Brier week.
