Grande Prairie takes home medals at the 2016 Alberta Winter Games

Yesterday the Alberta Winter Games wrapped up in Medicine Hat with some Grande Prairie region athletes bringing home medals. Kendyl Hotte takes home multiple medals with 1st place in 14 to 16 Female Slopestyle and another medal for 2nd in Female Boarder Cross. In male Slopestyle for 14 to 16, John MacDougall took first place and Cauy Cuthbertson received the gold medal for 60kg in male wrestling. Altogether the Swan City received 8 gold medals which included female volleyball.

Another 8 silver medals will be taken home for categories like female speed skating relays while 13 bronze medals were won in categories like female slopestyle snowboarding. The 4 day competition had over 18 hundred athletes from ages 11 to 17 compete.
