The largest economic forum in Northwestern Alberta and Northeastern BC will be taking place this week in the Peace Country. The Growing the North conference is set to take place Wednesday and Thursday and Marketing Communications Manager for the Grande Prairie District Chamber of Commerce Tom Pura says there are speakers from all sectors including Marketing, Urban Planning and the Oil and Gas industry.
“We are very honoured to have the Minister of Energy Marg Mcuaig-Boyd speaking at the conference this year. She will be touching on the Royalty Review, something that was recently released.”
Both the 17th and 18th have a full schedule of speakers with 21 people set to bring information to the conference. Pura explains they are on par with other years for people registered to attend.
“It was started by a man named Walter Paszkowski and it has grown into a nice event that has become quite popular.”
There are around 300 people registered so far. The two day conference will take place at the Entrec Centre in Evergreen Park.
