County funds help to open Bezanson Community Rink

The Bezanson Community will officially welcome a new skating rink on Monday. The Grand Opening of the Bezanson Community Rink is set for Family Day after the work began on the project 5 years ago. The County of Grande Prairie funded a portion of the $320,000 facility from their Recreational and Cultural Assistance Program at $127,500.

The rink is located beside the Bezanson school for the community to use in every season for activities such as hockey and ice skating in the winter and in the warmer months rollerblading and basketball.

The Family Day Grand Opening event is presented by the Bezanson Fire Department Society which will be held in Bezanson Rink with a ribbon cutting and puck drop. There will also be a short hockey game with firefighters versus community children as well as hot dogs to eat. The event is free and kicks off at 1:00pm going until 4:00pm.
