Wanted Peace River man arrested in traffic stop

A wanted man tried to use a fake ID to get away from police in Grande Prairie Saturday night. 35 year old Kevin Hinson of Peace River was pulled over around 8 p.m. on 92nd Avenue near 92nd Street.

He was reportedly uncooperative with officers and wouldn’t give them legal vehicle documents. Turns out he was wanted on more than 30 warrants from High Level to Sylvan Lake.

He’s since been charged with obstructing a peace officer, driving an uninsured vehicle with an expired licence plate, and two counts of failing to comply with conditions. He’ll appear in court Wednesday.

A woman he was with was also arrested on outstanding warrants out of Beaverlodge.
